We buy our birds as day-old, unvaccinated chicks from an NPIP hatchery. They start in the brooder in our barn where they're warm and safe, then move out to grass with a heat plate as soon as they're big enough — earlier than most folks do it, but the plate keeps them covered while they finish feathering out. After that it's fresh pasture, clean feed, and sunshine. We process them whole, vacuum seal, and chill them — no parting out, no fillers, no mystery.
